Career:

1808 Fellow of Trinity College, Dublin.
1813 An LL.D. Went to the bar. Gave up, and took Holy Orders.
1816 Professor of Oratory at T.C.D.
1820 Professor of Mathematics. Served as Bursar 1836-1844
1852- Provost of T.C.D. by the Earl of Clarendon, then Lord Lieutenant (appointed 24 January). Died in office.

Other information:

Of a generally liberal and reformist cast of mind. Described as "clever but very lazy" by a colleague, but seems to have done an adequate job as Provost.
