Marion

by Robert "Manfred" Harington

... Who lived in my dreams,
Shrouded in mystery her eyes of amber,
Her hair of gold;
A mind so free, her heart never sold.

She lived a life, careless of time.
We shared a castle barren and bleak.
Our love flowered boldly,
Never stooping to weep.

Oh where are you now? The crystal does not tell.

How could a love so strong - tear apart!
And fall into an abyss deep.

Oh where are you now? The crystal does not tell.

Life leads us forward to a future unknown;
Our minds take us back to a past we have known.

Marion is here! A flicker in time,
A breathless whisper of a love that was mine.

But she does not know of our love so deep;
She now lies slumbering: ashen and cold;
Her world is forbidden, or so we are told.

So, Marion, sleep tight: just dream of the future,
Dread not the night.
